Lloyd Carr to Retire Monday

According to players and media, Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr has informed the team he will retire. His official announcement is slated for 10 am Monday. Carr has been a coach at Michigan for 28 years. In 1997 he brought Michigan it's first National Title in 50 years, and led the Wolverines to 6 conference championships in his twelve years as head coach.

Thanks For Everything Coach.

I'm ecstatic
Carr has needed to go for a long time.

It's now time to get another coach in there who can actually beat Ohio State and win bowl games.

It's pathetic that two of the greatest players to come out of UM (Henne and Hart) never won the biggest game of the year.

Michigan Football will win more games with Les [Miles].

re:
I've never thought the world of Lloyd as a football coach, like the majority of UM fans. I thought he was pretty good -- which just doesn't cut it at Michigan, unfortunately.

But as you said in an earlier post, this was a fine man, to say the least, and a damn good human being. He did a lot for the program, the players, and the fans.

I wish he could've gone out with one more win against the Buckeyes, but it just wasn't there. Farewell, coach.
