PSU Review

I must say, as a Penn State fan, your preview was rather impressive. I think most of the things you said are right down the fairway.

However, 9-3 seems a bit harsh. I have a hard time thinking we'll lose to BOTH OSU and Wisconsin at home. Honestly, Wisconsin has never been very impressive in my estimation, and Ohio State has some signifigant holes to fill.

I'm not saying I expect an undefeated season, but 10-2 or 11-1 sound more accurate to me.

I do expect another good game between Penn State and Michigan this year. Hopefully, we'll both end up in a BCS game, and win both to clean up the mess that was last season for the Big 10.

Enjoy killing Notre Dame.

Fair enough

In hindsight, you're probably right. The only reason for the third loss is that it is Ohio State and I've picked against the Sweatervest and lost too many times on games that aren't UM/OSU. And on a more solid footing, OSU's defense will be very, very good this year. On offense, despite the loss of two excellent receivers, Troy Smith, and Pittman; OSU plugs in Beanie Wells who torched an excellent Michigan D, has an excellent line and several highly touted WRs on the wings. The question will be at QB, but by the PSU/OSU game he'll be used to the pressure. The pick has more to do with my trust that Tressel's D will be that much better this year and OSU's run offense will be tough for PSU to stop.

Still, it'll be a close one that goes either way. Either way, I had to pick one or the other in July and a lot will change between now and then. And you're right, the Happy Valley home field advantage may be the deciding factor.
