Michigan Wins Third Straight Big Ten Baseball Title!
Normally, this would be on the frontpage, but with the Charity Bowl, I figured athletics can take a back seat at least for a day or two.
That said, Michigan secured its third straight Big Ten Baseball Title with a Sunday afternoon double-header sweep of Minnesota. Michigan took the games 11-5 and 12-8. Sophomore 1B/DH Mike Dufek blasted a pair of dingers and accounted for 8 RBIs in the sweep.
The result is No. 19 Michigan hosting the Big Ten tournament, and (hopefully), assuring themselves of an invite to the NCAA tournament!
Congrats team and Go Blue!

i'm deathly afraid
of the number of errors we have been committing the last few weeks. and today’s shut out also worries me. the last thing we want to do is go cold right now. if we win the big10 tourney, we have a better chance of securing a higher 2 seed (or as ping baseball pointed out a top 8 seed, although rather unlikely). The lost today might have nixed that chance anyways.
Tomorrow is our chance to have the outright record for Big10 wins in a season with 26. Currently we’re tied with OSU with 25 in one season. (thanks chuck from bigtenhardball.blogspot.com)
