Game #17 Open Thread: Michigan Basketball at Illinois

UGLY basketball since the telecast started… lots of great hustle plays by the Maize n Blue so far though.

Did the analyst really just say “if it died and it flied, let’s eat it” ?

That tells you how enthralling the play on the court has been…

The Michigan offense right now is having to overwork for every attempt.

Unfortunately, Illinois keeps hitting these three’s to make up all of the ground we had to claw and fight to gain… Why is Sims taking that shot? Sigh

I love Braylon, will never forget him, but the “5 hour designated driver” line is not remotely funny, in any way, shape, or form. I wonder how many takes that took to get the crew to laugh in a “natural” way.

Well that was a…uhhh… interesting first half.

for us to string 3 passes in a row together without booting the ball to them or out of bounds.

I almost wish they’d been as hot against us as they were in the first half of the first game. This is going to be a tough game.

Someone really needs to step up and be consistent, it’d be nice to get the ball to Sims a little closer than 15 feet from basket. Manny looks like he’s out of it out there as well.

The other way to look at this is that McCamey is playing out of his butt, certainly that can’t continue for the whole 2nd half right?

Ok seriously, what are the odds that this Jim Herrmann talk is anything more than just wild speculation? Can Rodriguez really, I mean REALLY, be looking at him?

I think that was just to scare everyone. The reaction was universally negative.

I just hope that whomever we bring in manages to tackle the age-old Michigan problems of horrendous tackling and terrible pursuit angles… Sure we’ve had moments where we managed to actually execute in those areas, but last year was probably as bad as I have ever seen in either of those two fundamental portions of the game.

You might have to go to Gibson for a while here, Sims has been a complete non-factor.

Nice play there, maybe it’ll wake him up.

This has been agonizing to watch us blow opportunities.

I like the effort that Gibson is putting forth. The results may not be amazing, but appreciated anyway.

He’s been making a lot of great plays, just not a lot of buckets.

But someone of the Maize and Blue persuasion is going to have to get going here.

I find it funny that the only think Beilein gets to say in this commercial is, “the chips.”
