Well...

Penn State and IU are going to drag these last 40 seconds out for quite some time…

Not all that encouraging

to see Sims off to a poor start… Like the throwback uni’s though.

I think we can generalize that to...

all schools, if your colors are not pink or orange, don’t buy that color shirt.

Or if you do,

at least have the decency to not wear it to a game. Especially in the student section.

by jeepnut on Jan 17, 2009 7:18 PM CST reply actions

We really need to work on our passing.

And it’s not just this game that’s making me say that.

by jeepnut on Jan 17, 2009 7:19 PM CST reply actions

Yes we do...

We better get 3 free throws here.

I'll take 2 of 3.

Is it just me, or does Novak have a really high arched free throw?

I didn't think we could shoot worse than we did at Illinois

but apparently we can.

Have we reached the point where we are supposed to scream and throw things?

I’m seeing a lot of players standing around outside the arc.

Yay 3!

C'mon now!!!!!!

by SCM on Jan 17, 2009 7:48 PM CST reply actions

You're right though...

Absolutely no movement inside the arc, all of those great back-cuts from earlier in the year are but a distant memory.

We've become way too one-dimensional.

Early on people were worried the Beilein system would depend too much on the three and it originally looked like they would be proven wrong. Now, I’m not so sure.

Boy though...

For how terribly we’ve played, down 4 at this juncture is pretty darn fine with me.

by SCM on Jan 17, 2009 7:51 PM CST reply actions

Yep.

If we can make some adjustments during halftime, we’ve got a great shot.

by jeepnut on Jan 17, 2009 7:52 PM CST reply actions

I actually agree with the halftime analyst...

we need to push the ball a bit and try to get some more open looks.

Sims is just going through the motions down low

but Manny is heatin’ up baby!!!!

by SCM on Jan 17, 2009 8:14 PM CST reply actions

Our offense is still looking incredibly one dimensional

We have to get some kind of inside game going here to open up the outside looks.

Sweeeeeet.

Where is the foul there? WHERE?!

GO BLUE! http://www.maizenbrew.com/

Crap.

That was a punch in the gut.

by jeepnut on Jan 17, 2009 8:58 PM CST reply actions

It's becoming increasingly evident

that this team is going to really have to work its tail off against teams that have a solid inside game. We simply do not matchup well against anyone like that down low… and when you can’t hit anything at all, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Too little too late

GO BLUE! http://www.maizenbrew.com/

by SCM on Jan 17, 2009 9:02 PM CST reply actions

Where was that kind of ball movement all game though?

When we’re shooting 20% in the first half, it was so much standing around with no open looks and having to force it at the end of the possession…. funny what happens when the team plays with some urgency.

GO BLUE! http://www.maizenbrew.com/

by SCM on Jan 17, 2009 9:04 PM CST reply actions

yeah, no joke, a big hit to the momentum that we built up to this point...

Gotta regroup now heading on the road to a Penn State team that’s playing pretty well. Sigh.

It's looking like...

…we are solidly a middle of the pack team.
