| Last week's ballot | ||
This thing is a hot mess, just like last week. Compounding the issue of "holy crap I'm not sure which teams really deserve to be top-10" is the fact that I was at a family gathering for all of Saturday and missed a good portion of football being played. I'm going on recaps and box scores here, ladies and gentlemen, and that doesn't begin to tell a complete story.
This ballot is yours. Tell me where to move teams, and I'll move them. Does Notre Dame deserve to be ranked after uber-close calls with Purdue and Washington? Does Houston deserve the boot? Cal?
Lemme know.

Poll thoughts
- I still think Cincy is a good team, but to be placed in the top 5, you have to play other legitimate football teams. I like them at 8, right in front of LSU.
+ Notre Dame definitely has flaws, but they have played a respectable schedule and are 4-1. I like them around 20-22.
+ Penn State is a top 10 team who slipped up in one game to a good opponent. I like them at least at #10.
- On the one hand, I’m with you in wanting to reward teams for playing tough opponents. On the other hand, Oklahoma is the only ranked team with 2 losses. If they really are top notch material, they will earn their way back. I like them at #21-25.
+ I’d give Wisconsin a small bump. They are shaky for sure, and I don’t think they are better teams than many ranked teams, but they are finding ways to win and are undefeated. Maybe switch them with S. Florida.
Those are my thoughts, for what it’s worth. Nice job!

Disagree about Penn State... rest are great points.
Penn State has played one football team and was thoroughly handled in that game, top 10? No way.
Agree on Wisconsin moving up a bit, 5-0 is 5-0.
I think Oklahoma should drop a little more, but that’s not a major concern. In fact, just trade Wisky and OU.
DROP CAL. Back to back weeks with 3 points? They’ve been blown out of the Top 25.

Boise drops more than one for
giving up 16 at home! to a UC hippie school that I didn’t even know was in Division I (I see the transition from Division II was finished in 2007). Only 13-0 at the half, 24-10 after three. I drop them to 9, just in front of Iowa.
I like that you’ve moved all the remaining unbeatens in. Agree with SCM about Cal — I’d replace them with ND, which has shown some grit in adjusting to the loss of Floyd and having a douche for a coach.

For the record:
That was not a knock on hippies — my best friend from high school went to UC Davis — it’s just that they are generally are not known for their football prowess.

Auburn - Miami
I think they are worthy of a slightly higher spot, despite the fact that I can’t stand the SEC. I watched the game and while everyone is talking about their offense, their defense is going to come of age at some point. Look out for the Tigers in late October – November.
I am not buying into the Miami thing just yet and would drop them a notch or two.
Flip Boise State and USC, as much as I hate USC, they deserve to be ranked ahead.
More of this will get figured out this week with LSU Florida, Iowa-Michigan, and other games.
Good Job and keep up the good work.
