RROD v Brian kelly next year...

We lose Matthews, Ortman, Schilling, Moosman, Minor, C. Brown, Graham, S. Brown and now WARREN.  These are huge losses to a team that just came off  a very terrible season where RR just let the guys basically quit after the Iowa loss (not counting Deleware St cause thats a joke).  I am considerably happy that we beat ND but am not convinced we will next year.. In fact, after looking at the depth charts and considering the coaching situations I think we will be the underdog.  Before you get too angry to read on, just listen.  RR has been very disappointing in his first two years.  When he took the job he said he had absolutely no idea what the UM football team had, talent wise.. but he expected it to be deep with exceptional talent and recruits waiting on bated breath to be plucked.  We all know that was not the case.   He did a good job recruiting last year and this years class is stacked but with mostly 3 star guys.  So there can be an argument that he is bringing in HIS type of players to win later.. but I want to win NOW!  I don't want the Charlie Weis of UM claiming that the winning seasons are just one recruiting class away.  

ND loses Jimmy Clausen.  One would think that would be a bad thing for a team.. IT IS NOT.  It will be the best thing thats happened to ND in the past 4 years.  He was a cocky, arrogant, selfish brat and couldn't lead worth a damn.  This team will be much more united with B Kelly at the helm and the kid Crist throwing the ball.  Tate is a huge loss and Im glad he wont be on the field next year.  Now Ciss can get all over M. Floyd and see if we can shut him down.  They return all they're running backs and start the newly hyped golden homer Cierre Wood this year (who they will not have to rely on).   We lose two top RBs and for another season will have to rely on freshman at a key position.  They lose Young and Olsen on the OL with some 5th year guys coming back.  The only one that will hurt them is Young, Olsen sucks.  We lose Schilling, our OL leader and Graham, our DL leader.  They return Floyd on offense and Manti Teo on defense (He was going to go on some mormon mission or something).   We lose a lot more valued players then they do.

Has RR shown that he can unite this team and get them to play at the level they are capable of?  NO!  He let them quit and give up two seasons in a row.

The fact is, ND had the worst coach in college football history and managed to win more games than us this year.  I love to hate ND and that is why I watch them whenever I can.  There is a lot of talent there and B Kelly did muuuch more with muuuch less at every school he's coached at, the latest being Cincy.  Realize that ND WILL be better next year and RR needs to get something consistent going with this team.  Hopefully the younger guys will be more comfortable in the system this year round.  I hate to say it but if ND beats us next year its going to probably be a baaad year and RR will be out the door.. Hey, maybe by that time Urban would want to coach again.  We can dream right?
