According to OBNUG, SB Nation's awesome Bronco's blog, Boise State is close to finalizing a deal to fill the final slot in its 2010 nonconference schedule.

"It's going to be a good one," said BSU president Bob Kustra, who would not disclose the opponent or the game location.

There's a feelin' around the Boise parts that the early rumors it could be Michigan could actually have been true. However, Boise's got plenty of options for September 4, 2010. Take a look!

Anyone got any inside tips on this? What to you think, Boise at Michigan?

It would be a great game...

but it would be even better if we do a home and home series with them. Think how great it would be to see two spread offenses on the Smurf Turf and hopefully by then we have fully adjusted to the Rodriguez offensive system.

Wellllssss

Does more for them than it does for us (in terms of national profile), but it’s good for college football and great for Michigan fans who want to see a good game. That’s a big net positive overall. Do it!

Oh god, there goes the Big Ten's reputation for 2010

Somehow Michigan screwing this game up will impact the rest of the Big Ten schools who have nothing to do with this potential game and end up being punished. Jeez, another Appalachian State / Utah / Oregon debacle all over again.

See you in Ann Arbor

You mean the Utah team that went unbeaten and crushed Alabama in the Sugar Bowl? Or the Oregon team that beat Southern Cal in 2007, before injuries brought them down?

Nice job against Southern Cal last year, loser!

Appalachian State...

was a debacle, I’ll grant you that. The other two losses were to two damn good teams, there was no shame in losing to them, although it would have been much better had we won both games.

Boise State...

Whether it’s considered fair or not, is much more of a “known quantity” than even last year’s Utah team. I wrote a rather extensive column last year on the Utah connundrum: that being that they were a loaded team that nobody in the MSM was hyping as a loaded team… a very poor scheduling combination for us. I don’t see that same situation with Boise State simply because they, at least to my perception, are more of a “name” matchup than Utah.
