Michigan to Play Alabama in 2012 in Cowboys Stadium, It's Official
There's a press release and everything:
The University of Michigan football team will face the University Alabama in the 2012 College Football Kick-off Event on Sept. 1, 2012, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be televised nationally in prime time.
Yeah. It's on. Hat Tip to MGoBlog for breaking this two months ago. We'll have a fun Q & A with Roll Bama Roll, SBN's Champagne of Bama Blogs, on Monday. For now, bask in the glow of Jerry World's gigantic HDTVs and his wonderful, wonderful money. Nice that this finally came to fruition, but one little question.
WHY NO HOME AND HOME!? /sobs, assumes fetal position/
Michigan is still two games short for the 2012 season, you may assume these will be tomato cans. Carry on.

I just don’t want to have to go to Dallas. But then again, Shiner Bock is much better in TX.

Well at least a SEC team is willing to leave its region...
I like it…it feels good to have a legit team on our schedule…of course the following week Michigan will be hosting Lake Superior State…for the other two fillers, get some mid-level MWC or Conf. USA teams (if their conferences still exit)…
Besides by 2012 Rich Rod will be gunning for a national title (Denard’s senior season), and our “young” secondary will be highly experienced and feature 4 Charles Woodsons…or we will fear that the game is not close due to Les Miles’ clock management (sorry Harbaugh is not coming to Michigan..)

This is going to be a great matchup
I’m really looking forward to it ! Denard should’ve had time to win his Heisman by then, and, will have grown into the position even more (if thats possible). Bama’s team will have alot of the same players especially on D. (we’re very young on that side of the ball. The offense will have suffered some attrition but nevertheless a great game in the making. Won’t miss it. Good Luck Guys ! Roll Tide Roll !!
Hold my beer and watch this.
