Stuff You Need To Read Right Now

Reports: Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miami Hurricanes discuss 2012 football game - Notre Dame and Miami are discussing meeting in football in 2012 and perhaps beyond. Please make this happen. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. My wife will kill me but, goddammit, I'm purposely buying a Vinny Testeverde jersey and showing up in cammo. And Donna, don't forget who's taking you home or in whose arms you're going to be. So, Donna, save the last dance for me.

Sports Radio 810 WHB - Sounds like there's an ultimatium coming from the Big XII to it's wandering eye members:

"We need to come to terms with that. We’re going to head into our meetings in Kansas City and I think we need to have a very frank conversation about where we’re going and who’s going to be on the plane when we take off." Big XII Commissioner Beebe said. "I will be very direct and talk about that with our membership and want to find out. It would be a shame, given that all boats have risen with this tide that’s been created in the Big 12, for anybody to think they’re going to have a better future somewhere else."

It Is Nothing But Speculation Expansion - Pitt Blather wraps up the most recent round of expansion rumors and realities. Definitely worth a read.

Headlinin': Soldier Field on tap for 'Catholics vs. Convicts' remix - The Rocket weighs in on Tha U playin' Notre Dame again. Also of note from Dr. Saturday's round up: Ole Miss won't return the favor to Boise State an play a game on the blue turf, opting to shell out the largest guarantee in school history, $900,000, for a one-and-done.

Big Ten Expansion

Booster T. Boone Pickens says Oklahoma State should stay in Big 12 - Prominent Oklahoma State booster T. Boone Pickens believes his alma mater should stay put in the Big 12. Pickens would buy the Conference for himself, but apparently all that money he renigged on giving to OSU is still tied up in that pesky stockmarket. He was big on Greek Bonds. So that seems to be holding up his acquisition of the world.

Oklahoma president thinks Big 12 will remain intact - Following a disputed report that fellow Big 12 members Nebraska and Missouri had been offered the chance to join the Big Ten, Boren told The Associated Press on Thursday that he believes "if any member decided to leave, they would regret it later on." Boren will put a horse head in their bed just to prove his point.

Big Ten expansion: TV money could skyrocket - According to Teddy Greenstein of th Trib, yes THAT Teddy Greenstein, as the number of home subscriptions rise, the multiplication adds up to considerable sum for conference. As with so many of the Expansion pieces, it's a giant "IF" that has to qualify everything. Yes, there are potentially more revenues on the east coast than in the Mid West. But that's IF rutgers or 'Cuse can deliver the big Media Markets.

Why Rutgers' APR score fits in perfectly with the Big Ten's expansion plans - According to the Trentonian Rutgers' Academic Progress Rate report fits in perfectly with the Big Ten's expansion plans. Yeah. That's what we care about. APR. Look. We get it. Rutgers wants to join the Big Ten. But the determining factor will be television and advertising revenue, not APR.

As usual, you can follow our snarky coverage of Big Ten Expansion here.

Donna Shalala is a whore

She nearly knocked me down the steps at Miami’s baseball stadium once. that, and she destroyed the Orange Bowl.

A futile crusade to prevent mass ignorance
