Per MGoBlue.Com

After 30 years of distinguished service to the University of Michigan, associate athletic director and former U-M head football head coach Lloyd Carr will officially retire from the athletic department on Sept. 1.

I've talked about Lloyd at length and how much he means to me as a Michigan alumni and fan, and also what he means personally to myself and so many others. There's little I can add to what has already been said or written about him. All I can say is "Thanks, Lloyd." You gave many of us a role model we wouldn't have otherwise had and you gave all of us the example of what a Michigan Man should be. So, one last time, thank you Coach.

For everything.
