Urban Meyer... maybe?

Real quick, how do y'all feel about Urban Meyer as a possible candidate? I know there are a lot of "if's" surrounding his (to quote Huzilla) "Favre-like" tendencies and I'm not so sure he'd stick around for the length of time MIchigan fans would want, but hey, a guy can dream, right? The rumour is that his quitting Florida might not be entirely for health reasons, and he might be back on the market in a year. So we could wait one more year under Rich Rodriguez, and then see if Meyer might jump back in if "real" improvement isn't actually made?

Recall that he had a clause in his Utah contract to go to OSU, ND, or Michigan without penalty. Kelly and Tressel aren't going anywhere soon. The question is, though, if he wants to coach again, why on earth would he leave Florida?

Obviously, Harbaugh's more of an immediate solution, but the thought of a Meyer juggernaut sounds pretty good. The man can also obviously recruit anywhere, particularly in the Deep South...

Right! Like you said, it’s not happening this year. And I see no possible way that DB can retain RRod for even 1 more year.

Actually...

there is thought that Tressel is getting closer to retiring. He’s 58 right now and with Tattoogate in the headlines, he won’t want to deal with the headaches that go with it. See him slug through 2011 and leave the door open for Urban to slide through in 2012.

That said...

…he’d be on my list. The dude is really high strung though and I do believe he’s physically burned out from the pressure, not to mention a little mental because of it.
