Another day, another basketball commitment. Massachusetts guard Nick Stauskas committed to the Wolverines over the weekend. Stauskas is another long limbed guard with plenty of versatility and a nice outside stroke. Stauskas fits the Beilein mold in the sense that he can shoot extremely well, but the 6'5" guard has some quickness to compliment his jumper. The site Cutting Down the Nets has a great interview with the new Michigan commit from last September. Rivals likes the Canadian transplant enough to rank him as the #109 player in the 2012 class, which ranks him slightly ahead of Michigan's other 2012 commit Glen Robinson III.
While Stauskas' three star ranking might stir the OMG RECRUITZ juices of the recruiting trolls, Beilein's shown an amazing ability over the last two three years to identify under valued players. Jordan Morgan, Evan Smotrycz, and so forth. If Stauskas is as good shooting from the outside as profile and scouting indicate Michigan's in good shape.
