The Bad
Running back by committee
Fitzgerald Toussaint hasn't lived up to the hype this season, and nothing changed against Minnesota. He averaged 5.4 YPC, but take away his 41-yard scamper and he quickly dips under 3 YPC. His lack of production lead to Thomas Rawls seeing more carries, and he didn't do much either, averaging just 2.7 YPC. Some of this falls on the offensive line, but not all of it.
The Good
Michigan has a capable backup at quarterback
It isn't Russell Bellomy. Devin Gardner took more snaps at quarterback this week for "precautionary reasons", only to play the entire game. Devin didn't come out shining, throwing an arrant interception to a defensive back who was stalking his tight end the entire play. His play picked up substantially after that, throwing two touchdowns and rushing for another on his way to a career day. Gardner showed us all why he was a five-star recruit out of high school by accounting for 255 total yards and 3 total touchdowns.
The defense
It's still the defense.
Jake Ryan
He's still Jake Ryan.

We all know what this team offers at this point: defense, and a wildly sporadic offense. Michigan should be 8-3 going into Columbus if Robinson is healthy for Northwestern and Iowa. If he isn't Michigan will find itself in two dogfights that it could easily lose.
