Spring positions switches
According to John Borton over at the Rivals site, both Jordan Paskorz and Christopher Eddins have been moved from defensive end to tight end. Both are redshirt-sophomores with good size (6-4, 245/250 each).
It's not a great sign but both of them may have played in high school.

Eh,
we need the depth at TE. As long as these two aren’t seeing the field much this year I think things should be fine.

Not surprised to hear about Paskorz
Paskorz is the very definition of a DE/LB tweener. Based on his scouting reports he was a little too slow to play linebacker but possessed a good frame; and was a little too small to play DE but had great speed for the position. IIRC, he was supposed to play that Brandon Herron DE/LB tweener position under Rodriguez’ 3-3-5 or whatever it was. But with the switch back to a basic 4-3, his skill set just didn’t translate.
This could be a good transition for him, and maybe he can play as a larger version of the Aaron Shea FB/TE position this season. I’m hopeful this will give the kid a chance to shine and see the field a little more. But regardless of where he plays, he’s going to have to put on a little more weight to be an effective blocker.

Agreed 100%
I’m wondering if the move is more for just depth purposes than anything. Both of these guys have good size, so they could be just blockers. I know Borges loved to use 2-3 tight ends at SDSU a year ago, and only one was a great pass-catcher.
