Please forgive my ignorance... I've not been following college sports for very long as I live in England and have only had EPSN America over the last 3 years. I've followed the NFL for around 20years.

My wife and I decided we'd choose a few teams to support, mainly to have a bit of fun during March Madness but I have now become crazily into college football and basketball.

One of the teams I follow is Michigan and I've seen a lot of news lately regarding recruiting but am a little confused with it all.

I saw recently that the wolverines have had a really good start to the 2013 recruiting cycle. I thought the 2012 recruitment class had only just been signed? When do the 2012 recruits start playing?

I also just bought NCAA 08 for PS3 so I am kind of getting some idea of recruiting but obviously this is not realistic.
