Commitment Tracker (11/25): Star recruits push forward

Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

Only the elite survive in high school football playoffs. Which Michigan commitments are still alive, and which were sent packing?

More playoffs, more problems. Players who had already exited the playoffs before this article include TE Ian Bunting, LB Michael Ferns, WR Drake Harris, WDE Lawrence Marshall, DT Bryan Mone and LB Jared Wangler, QB Wilton Speight, WR Maurice Ways, OLB Chase Winovich and K Andrew David.

Notice that CB Jabrill Peppers, WR George Campbell and HB Damien Harris -- all five-star recruits -- have propelled their teams to deep playoff runs. This isn't a fluke.

2014 Commitments

Juwan Bushell-Beatty (Paramus Catholic, NJ) - Paramus Catholic escaped the clutches of Jabrill Peppers' former team, Don Bosco Prep, on a missed field goal. You can see the game in pictures.

Freddy Canteen (Eastern Christian Academy, MD) - ECA won't play again until Friday.

Mason Cole (East Lake HS, FL) - East Lake demolished Pinellas Park by the score of 45-0, advancing their third regional final in a row. Cole has the tendency to be involved in sweet pictures in which he lifts little people up.

Noah Furbush (Kenton, OH) - Kenton and Bryan met in a clash of unbeaten titans. Furbush's team came away victorious:

As you can see, Furbush is still playing with a club for an arm.

Jabrill Peppers (Paramus Catholic, NJ) - As stated above, Peppers and his Trojans defeated his former team, thanks to a missed field goal attempt that would have sent Paramus on its way. Peppers took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and caught a 32-yard slant for a TD. Video (via):

An impressive performance from Peppers during the most important high school football game of his career.

Brandon Watson (Eastern Christian Academy, MD) - ECA won't play again until Friday.

2015 Commitments

George Campbell (East Lake HS, FL) - East Lake won easily by the score of 45-0. Campbell only contributed one catch for 13 yards.

Shaun Crawford (St. Edward, OH) - Crawford catch a touchdown pass to help St. Edward secure a victory by the score of 28-0.

Damien Harris (Madison Southern, KY) - Madison Southern lost to Pulaski County, 32-28. Harris had 17 carries for 149 yards and two scores in a losing effort.

Tyree Kinnel (Wayne, OH) - Wayne is done after being beaten down by Hilliard Davidson.

Jon Runyan Jr. (St. Joseph's Prep, PA) - Runyan's team is out after losing to Malvern Prep.

Gold Star to Put on Momma's Refrigerator Award

This week's GSTPOMRA goes to Jabrill Peppers, who came up with the two biggest plays of the game against his former club; the kid defines clutch.
