YFD Gives Thanks for Football

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

In a season filled with duality - excellence confounded by incompetence - We've got just the beer for you.

Hey, folks, it's the last game of the regular season. Ohio State. The Game. It's my favorite day of the year.

Well, on an ordinary year. Games like '06 and most of the late 90s/early 2000s defined the best rivalry in sports. This year, Michigan's offensive line woes and inconsistent play make this game against the #3 Buckeyes a clench-your-teeth and gut through it type game.

A lot has been written this week by disgruntled Michigan fans about how they expected more from this team and Brady Hoke in his third year. They're probably right. Regression this season was unexpected.

But now, tomorrow, it's the best day of the year. The forces of good line up against the forces of evil. And I've got the perfect beer for a masochistic, hate-filled Saturday aginst Michigan's most bitter rival: 21st Amendment's He Said, He Said seasonal pack. One the one hand - you've got a strong Belgian trippel, light and crispy, ready to lead you through a long Saturday in which your team likely gets pasted at noon. On the other, you've got the blackness of a coal porter in the same pack of beer. The Belgian's your typical trippel, strong and hoppy with a blonde finish - and a surprise hit of pumpkin on the finish as well. The porter is dark and smoky, barreling deep into the depths of what darkness really means.

So which will you choose? The tripel or the porter? Well, I'm betting that if you pick the side of the angels or the side of the darkness, you're going to feel the same way and drink all of 'em. Just know this - no matter what you choose, you'll be happy. And feeling it, which is probably the same thing tomorrow.

As this season comes to a close around Thanksgiving, I know it's been a rough season, but I'd like to thank the seniors on this Team 134 for another year of Michigan football. Adversity and idiocy have struck hard this year - but there is nothing in the world I love more than Michigan football, and Saturday evening, win or lose, that's not going to change. Now let's go play spoiler and wreck some dreams in Columbus.

/laughs at that last thought. At least we'll have this.

Until next time, Cheers, Michigan Faithful!
