DeVeon Smith will look to unseat Thomas Rawls as one of Michigan's relied upon backups. - Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE
Michigan's other imrpessive running back recruit is official as of around 7:30 this morning.
Before Derrick Green came aboard the 2013 class, Michigan already had the verbal pledge of a pretty talented running back. DeVeon Smith, out of Ohio, is slightly overlooked next to Michigan's more high profile running back recruit, but Smith has the talent to factor into the running back discussion early.
With not much quality production ahead of him on the roster, as well as the uncertain future of Fitzgerald Toussaint, Smith could be Green's biggest challenger for full-time duties in the Michigan backfield this fall. If not then, Smith will provide good competition and a solid change of pace down the road.
