2015 Michigan Recruit Makes This Contributor Feel Old

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

So very old...

RT @KyleBogie: #Michigan football offers 2015 OL Jon Runyan Jr. (@Jon_Run1), 2014 WR Fredd Canteen (@FreddCanteen_) & 2014 CB Brandon Watson

— Sam Webb (@SamWebb77) June 18, 2013" >

I don't have any real insight into the recruiting of Jon Runyan, Jr. other than to say that he is a 6'4" 250 pound OL from PA, his dad was a mountain of a man who played most notably for the Philadelphia Eagles, is now a U.S. Representative from New Jersey, and the recruiting of his son now makes me feel very old. I hate when this happens. It's great seeing good kids get recruited by Michigan, but when they are the children of former Michigan greats I have clear memories of watching play...sheesh! It's bad enough these former players are retiring from the NFL at my age, but then I see that they have kids that are almost college bound? I suppose nothing I say will have an impact on time, so I'll just say good luck to the young man, and hopefully we'll see him in the winged helmet.

There will surely be some better analysis of this most recent recruiting info, so please stay tuned to Maize n Brew for more appropriate coverage by our recruiting masters.
