Trey Burke to Minnesota (for now)

Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

The Minnesota Timberwolves pick up Trey Burke with the ninth pick in a wild draft. He could go elsewhere in a trade.

Nobody really knew what to make of Trey Burke these last couple months. His ability to win at the college level was unquestioned, as was his offensive skillset and basically every intangible that anyone has ever cited in a draft conversation. Thing was, size is a huge deal in NBA draft talk, and Burke never had the prototypical build of a NBA guard.

Still, he was too good to go too long, and Minnesota wouldn't let Burke fall into the double-digits.

More news to come on Michigan players in the NBA draft. Does Burke get traded? Does Hardaway Jr. go earlier than the second round?
