Greetings fellow Wolverines fans! As you all know by now, Michigan killed Illinois in Champagne for their first outright Big Ten Title since 1986. This title means so much to me as a long time Wolverine football and basketball fan. This title erases the dark years under Brian Ellerbe and Tommy Amaker. This title means so much as the NCAA tried everything to keep Michigan hoops down by dragging out the punishment for the Ed Martin scandal. This title puts Michigan back on the map as Tom Izzo and the Spartans are no longer the dominate program in this state! This title means that John Beilien is the best coach in the Big Ten and one of the best in the nation. He's done more with less. His roster isn't stock full of Mickey D All-Americans or five star guys. How many people were banging down Spike Albrecht's or even Nik Stauskus' doors to get them to come to there program? Yes, John Beilien has done everything for Michigan hoops as Mark Dantonio has down for Sparty football. More in fact. I'm hoping Jordan Morgan is ok cause I think my Wolverines can seriously go all the way this year!
That brings me to my next question, as wonderful as winning the regular season title is, there are a lot of people out there who try to diminish it saying if you lose in the Conference Tournament or get bounced early in the Big Dance, your season is a failure. I don't believe that, but what do you guys think? Does Michigan now have to win the Big Ten Tournament and National Championship to validate what they did tonight?
