They say winning heals all wounds, but Michigan has not done much of that lately. Coming off a 7-6 season a year ago, expectations from the national media and the Wolverine fanbase alike are very low heading into the 2014 campaign. Sporting News, who recently released their preseason top 25 list, had Michigan absent from their list.
Then again, that is a direct result from going 7-6 last season.
The Oklahoma Sooners top the list at number one, coming off a decisive bowl game victory over Alabama (number four on the list), SN determined the Sooners were worthy of the number one spot. Last years national champion, Florida State, also appears on the list at no. 3.
Four Big Ten schools were included on the list: Ohio State (9), Michigan State (12), Nebraska (17) and Wisconsin (19).
Michigan's quest to get back into the Top-25 starts Aug. 30 at home against Appalachian State.
