2015 LB Roquan Smith Backs Off UCLA Pledge, Reconsidering Michigan

8

Earlier on National Signing Day, 2015 four-star linebacker Roquan Smith (Montezuma, GA/ Macon County) committed to UCLA over Michigan and in-state school Georgia. However, after learning shortly thereafter and before he had faxed in his letter of intent that UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich is contemplating an offer to join the Atlanta Falcons staff, Smith backed off his pledge to UCLA.

Now, Smith is re-opening his recruitment and likely will wait a few days before he makes a decision. If Ulbrich remains at UCLA, Smith likely will become a Bruin. But, if Ulbrich heads to the Falcons, Smith may reconsider Michigan, Georgia, and Texas A&M. So there is a legitimate possibility that Jim Harbaugh and Michigan may add a 15th commit to the 2015 class in the 25th hour.

We will continue to update you on Smith's wild recruitment as it develops.
