Report: Kings Trade Nik Stauskas to Philadelphia 76ers

2

One night after one former Wolverine left the Philadelphia 76ers, another former Wolverine will be joining them.

In attempt to clear cap space for this summer's free agency period, the Sacramento Kings have traded Nik Stauskas, along with Jason Thompson and Carl Landry, to the 76ers, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

After being selected with the eighth pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, Stauskas had a rocky rookie season. He played in 73 games and averaged 15.3 minutes per game off the bench, scoring only 4.4 points per game and shooting only 32.2 percent from behind the three-point line. Stauskas' move to Philadelphia may be a much-needed fresh start for the sharpshooter after spending the past season playing for three different head coaches in a dysfunctional Sacramento franchise.

Stauskas is the second former Wolverine to be traded in the past week, as the New York Knicks sent Tim Hardaway, Jr. to the Atlanta Hawks during the 2015 NBA Draft.
