“It was so sudden,” he said. “I had just finished working out and was leaving spring workouts when I got news of the offer.”
The 6-foot-2, 177-pound safety committed to the Seminoles on April 8, 2017.
“FSU is still the school I’m most interested in because of the amount of great defensive backs they have produced and continue to produce,” Watson said.
He has offers to play for Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Boston College, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Syracuse, Tennessee, Tulane, UCF, and Vanderbilt.
Watson is ranked No. 278 in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports. He is the 16th-best at his position and the No. 25 ranked player in the state of Georgia.
“Michigan is high on my list,” he mentioned. “I’ve always wanted an offer from there.”
