Two Wolverines Named to CBS Sports' 2015 All-America Teams

1

CBS Sports revealed its 2015 All-America teams on Wednesday evening, and two Wolverines made the cut.

One was Jake Butt, who was the only tight end placed on the first team. For Butt, who announced on Tuesday he would forego the NFL Draft and return to Michigan for his senior season, this is his first national accolade after he was named the Big Ten's Tight End of the Year and selected to the All-Big Ten first team.

The other was Jabrill Peppers, who was named to the second team as a cornerback. This is Peppers' first national accolade after he was chosen to be on the All-Big Ten first team. However, it's a surprise that he was given this spot over fellow defensive back Jourdan Lewis, whom the USA Today named a first-team All-American earlier this week.

ESPN: Michigan's One of the 10 Easiest Recruiting Jobs

3

Michigan was ranked as the ninth-easiest place to recruit in college football according to ESPN's Recruiting Nation, whose experts ranked all 65 Power 5 jobs on the basis of geography, budget, facilities, pro potential, and other intangibles such as tradition and academic considerations.

This is what they said about Michigan: "The Wolverines have a highly visible brand that resonates with recruits, have a huge fan base and play in one of the all-time iconic venues in sports. Drawbacks to overcome include less in-state talent than chief rival Ohio State, as well as some academic considerations that present the occasional hurdle in attracting top recruits."

The only other Big Ten teams in the top 25 were Ohio State (2), Penn State (18), and Michigan State (23).

Report: Michigan Scheduled to Meet with DC Candidate Jeremy Pruitt

15

Jim Harbaugh is tentatively scheduled to meet with former Georgia defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt -- possibly this week -- regarding the open defensive coordinator position on Michigan's staff, according to a report from Wolverine247's Steve Lorenz. Pruitt's also been reported to be a top candidate to be the next defensive coordinator at Alabama after Kirby Smart was hired to be Georgia's new head coach.

Pruitt would be an excellent hire for Michigan. Not only is he a fantastic recruiter, he coordinated the best defense in the nation at Florida State in 2013 and two top-20 defenses at Georgia in 2014 and 2015 after the Bulldogs were 43rd in Defensive S&P+ in 2013.

Hardy is currently an unranked prospect.
