I missed this in this morning's recruiting roundup, so I figured I would pass it along.
A pair of 2015 Michigan football recruiting targets set their official visit dates in the last day or so. Four-star offensive lineman Zach Robertson (Bellflower, California) and three-star athlete Javarius Davis (Jacksonville, Florida) will be taking their officials to Ann Arbor for the Oct. 11 game against Penn State under the lights at the Big House, according to their respective profiles here and here on 247 Sports.
The Wolverines are basically putting all of their recruiting eggs in the basket of that weekend seeing as it really is their only opportunity to create a great atmosphere given their weak home schedule this season. The program has done a fantastic job of making it a site to behold the last few seasons.
Robertson is the 14th ranked offensive guard in the class according to the 247 Composite. Right now, UCLA is his leader but he does have a lot of interest in Michigan, as evidenced by him deciding to take an official to the school.
Davis is currently committed to North Carolina, as is offensive lineman William Sweet, who will be visiting for this game as well. It looks like the Florida Gators have a chance to flip Davis, but we'll see what happens.
While both guys do have interest in Michigan, I would not expect either of them to factor the Wolverines into their final decision unless they are completely blown away. Often times, recruits use official visits simply because they can, and that appears to be the case here.
