Michigan, like every other NCAA football program, is allowed a maximum of 85 football scholarships. The table below lists every player Michigan signed in each cycle in the order in which they committed. Each cycle has a high school graduation year and expected year of graduation for college (HS/college), to go with the number of players left on Michigan's roster from that cycle. Any player who has left the program – be it through graduation, transfer or expulsion – has his name struck out. Redshirted players are italicized.
Michigan's 2014 class is technically full at the moment. The staff can turn away fifth-year candidates to free up a few spots, and the class will push around 19 once the normal amount of attrition kicks in.
The class of 2015 is a bit murkier, being further down the line. The class projects to be very close to this year's, starting as low as 13-16 with the potential to climb toward 15-20, depending on the level of attrition the roster suffers from. The roster is becoming deeper and more talented, so it wouldn't be unusual for the transfer rate to climb slightly as players buried on the depth chart attempt to find a place where they can get snaps.
Feel free to point out any mistakes that I surely made.
