Jerimy Finch Decommits From UM, Commits to Indiana

Finch Flies Coop, Maze Confusing

Dammit. Dammit. Dammit.

Jerimy Finch dumped his verbal to Michigan over the weekend and committed to Indiana in arguably Terry Hoeppner's biggest recruiting coup in some time.

Details are spotty at this point, but The Wolverine and Go Blue Wolverine have it up.

This is bad news for Michigan's secondary. Compounding problems is the fact that Ronald Johnson reportedly loved his trip to Ohio State.  Michigan is hurting badly in the secondary and Finch's decommit, like Jai Eugene's last year, puts the Maize & Blue in a very difficult spot.  Michigan will scramble and find someone to fill Finch's shoes, but there's no doubt he won't be the quality of athlete Finch was barring a serious recruiting coup of our own.

The remaining top CB/DB listing Michigan other than Ronald Johnson is Donovan Warren who checks in at 22 on the Scout 100. Unfortunately it's USC, UCLA, Cal and UM competing for the California native's services. Tough month for our defense on and off the field.

In a related story, Marquis Maze, otherwise known as mini-Breaston, is probably gone too. The Diag broke the news to me this morning.

On the bright side, hot dog WR Rashad Mason had a ball at Michigan over the weekend.  Keep your fingers crossed but it's a longshot.
