Big Recruiting Weekend for Michigan Nets a Pair of 2013 Commitments (Update, Make that Four (Five? (Six!)))

Less than three weeks from the unofficial close of the 2012 recruiting cycle (/stares intently in the direction of Alex Kozan's vision quest) Michigan is starting to make some big moves toward solidifying another top-10 class for 2013.

Michigan has an impressive list of visitors coming in this weekend, and it looks like we are on commitment watch until Monday:

First, consensus top-100 linemen Kyle Bosch committed to the Wolverines. Bosch is one of the top linemen in the country and is a huge pickup for Michigan. After two years of disappointing offensive line hauls, Hoke is setting the Wolverines up to be monstrous up front for years to come. Bosch was a national recruit with offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, UNC, Nebraska, MSU, and Iowa.

Check out the tape on Bosch and picture him doing that to Buckeyes, Spartans, and the rest of the Big Ten for the next few years.

Second, Michigan picked up a verbal commitment from running back Wyatt Shallman. Shallman is a beast (6'3 255lbs) and looks to be the kind of bruising power runner that Hoke and co. have been dreaming of. Shallman has interest from all over the country including Cal, Florida, Oregon, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and scholarship offers from Michigan State, Cincinnati, and Syracuse.

Below is Shallman's highlight reel:

More to come as Michigan tries to finish off this big recruiting weekend with a bang.

Update, 3:00PM:

Michigan picked up two more commitments (while I was conveniently away from the computer).

Cass Tech cornerback Jourdan Lewis committed to the Wolverines this afternoon as well. Lewis is another four star player, currently ranked 167th overall by Rivals.com.

Cass Tech also supplied Michigan with another verbal commitment in offensive lineman David Dawson.

It is shaping up to be a huge weekend for Michigan's 2013 class, and there could be more to come. Stay tuned as DGDestroys and JC314 will have profiles coming up on the newest members of Michigan's family.

Update, 11:15PM:

Sam Webb is reporting on twitter that another player has committed to the Wolverines. This time it is OT Chris Fox, the 46th ranked player in the nation according to Rivals.com.

For the record that means Michigan picked up three offensive linemen today, two of whom are in the top-100 and the third in the top-250. Add in a win over Ohio State to keep the Big Ten title chase alive and I'd say we will be waiting a long time to find a better February Day

Update, 11:45PM:

Apparently I never get to sleep. Reports are surfacing that four-star DE and name-of-the-year candidate Taco Charlton has become the sixth commitment in the last twelve hours per TomVH's twitter.

So amend the record. Six consensus four-star commits, all six in the top-200 to Rivals.com. Plus a hockey win and the biggest basketball victory in years.

Sleep well tonight, Wolverine fans. It doesn't get much better than this.
