Site News: Meet the latest additions to Maize n Brew

When I took over the site from Dave in February my first goal was to get things rolling as soon as possible. I quickly put together a group of very talented writers that I knew I could count on to keep content flowing, and they more than lived up to what I expected of them. I said from the beginning that Maize n Brew was going to be a forum for talented people who love Michigan sports to write, and the site is lucky to have the team it does right now. Any success we have had thus far has been in large part theirs.

However, I wasn't content to stop there. It has been around four months since the change in management and I have begun to see areas in which we could use some more help. The biggest is in recruiting. DGDestroys does an excellent job with scouting reports and breakdowns, but covering recruiting has become a big deal and it is more than one person can handle. Especially someone who purports to have a life outside of internet message boards*.

To that end -- and with the help of DGDestroys -- I have added two new writers to the site. Many of you probably already know Sarah Hughes from her time writing at Hoke's Mad Magicians as a recruiting analyst. She will be joining MnB and posting one or two pieces a week on Michigan recruiting. Also, making his blogging debut will be Anthony, a frequent mgoblog poster and recruiting message board lurker. Anthony will be covering the news end of recruiting, keeping all of us up to date on the day to day happenings of visits, camp performances, and other dispatches from the recruiting underworld. Look for these two to begin posting next week.

I have to tell you that I am beyond excited for these two to join the team here at Maize n Brew, and going forward Maize n Brew will be a much more complete Michigan football website**.

I know I speak for the whole Maize n Brew community when I say "welcome" to both Sarah and Anthony.

-Zach Travis, Editor-in-chief/power-hungry, warmongering, dictatorial blogger extraordinaire.

*(In the immortal and slightly altered words of C. Montgomery Burns: "I'll keep it short and sweet, Family. Religion. Friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in sports blogging. When opportunity knocks, you don't want to be driving to a maternity hospital or sitting in some phony-baloney church. Or synagogue.")

**(I know someone is inevitably going to say "way to go, four months too late for 2013 recruiting," so I am preemptively acknowledging this while defending myself by saying, "who the hell thought Michigan would be to the point of offering longsnappers scholarships by the beginning of June?")
