Commitment Tracker (11/12): Seasons ended, seasons extended

The vast majority of Michigan's football commitments are on elite high school football teams. How are the players and their teams performing as the playoffs roll on? What's next for those who lost in the playoffs?

Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

Most of Michigan's commitments are either in the playoffs, have been eliminated from the playoffs, or are finishing up their seasons just before the playoffs begin. Michigan and Ohio have started their playoffs, but some of the east coast states and the state of Florida have yet to begin their playoffs.

2014 Commitments

Ian Bunting (Hinsdale Central, IL) - Hinsdale was eliminated last week. Bunting's next game will be as a Michigan Wolverine.

Juwan Bushell-Beatty (Paramus Catholic, NJ) - Paramus smashed Bergen Catholic to move on in the playoffs. JBB helped put up 44 points.

Freddy Canteen (Eastern Christian Academy, MD) - ECA lost to Friendship Academy by a field goal and is now 7-3 but still has two more games left on its schedule.

Mason Cole (East Lake HS, FL) - East Lake won again, this time by a mere 54-0, and will begin its playoff march this Friday.

Michael Ferns (St. Clairsville, OH) - Ferns' team was ousted from the playoffs after a 0-34 loss with Ferns watching from the sidelines. He'll represent Michigan at the Under Armour All-American Bowl before arriving early to Ann Arbor.

Noah Furbush (Kenton, OH) - Kenton beat another team down, this time trouncing Galion by 44 points to move into the second round of Ohio's playoffs.

Drake Harris (Grand Rapids Christian, MI) - GRC lost without Harris, exiting the playoffs early. Harris will enroll early at Michigan after representing the blue in the Under Armour All-American Bowl.

Lawrence Marshall (Southfield, MI) - Southfield exited the playoffs last week. Marshall's next football game will be as a Wolverine.

Bryan Mone (Highland High School, UT) - Highland was eliminated a week ago. Mone will represent Michigan in the Under Armour All-American Bowl before enrolling early at Michigan.

Jabrill Peppers (Paramus Catholic, NJ) - Paramus smashed Bergen Catholic in large part because of Peppers; he had a rushing TD, two receptions for TDs – one of which was insane – and a pick-six. Not a bad day at the office.

Wilson Speight (Collegiate School, VA) - Speight led Collegiate past Flint Hill by going 15-of-24 for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns. Collegiate is now 9-1 and will begin playoffs shortly.

Jared Wangler (Warren De La Salle, MI) - DLS was eliminated a week ago. Wangler will represent Michigan in the Under Armour All-American Bowl.

Brandon Watson (Eastern Christian Academy, MD) - ECA lost to Friendship Academy by a field goal and is now 7-3 but still has two more games left on its schedule.

Maurice Ways (Detroit Country Day, MI) - Ways dominated in a win for DCD, catching three touchdown passes on 9 receptions for 185 yards. Country Day moves on in the Michigan playoffs.

Chase Winovich (Thomas Jefferson, PA) - Thomas Jefferson got its first real test of the season against Highlands, winning by the 9 points it scored in the final quarter. Winovich was the reason why TJ came away victorious, rushing for 200 yards and 3 scores to go with five tackles on defense.

2015 Commitments

George Campbell (East Lake HS, FL) - East Lake won again, this time by a mere 54-0, and will begin its playoff march this Friday.

Shaun Crawford (St. Edward, OH) - St. Ed's beat Shaker Heights badly, winning by a score of 49-0.

Andrew David (Washington, OH) - Washington advances with a win.

Damien Harris (Madison Southern, KY) - Harris scored four times to lead Southern into the second round. Only four?

Tyree Kinnel (Wayne, OH) - Wayne beat Hilliard Darby and is now 10-1 and moving on to the second round of Ohio's playoffs.

Jon Runyan Jr. (St. Joseph's Prep, PA) - St. Joe's won to move into the third round of the PA playoffs.

Gold Star to Put on Momma's Refrigerator Award

There are so many great candidates this week, making it hard to hand out the GSTPOMR Award. I'll go with Jabrill Peppers over Damien Harris, Chase Winovich, Maurice Ways and Wilton Speight, who all deserve high praise. Peppers was simply dominant against solid competition, scoring in every way possible to help lead his team to a victory. Winovich and Ways both had monstrous days, but their performances weren't as well-rounded.
