Michigan is still hanging in the top-25 — now three spots behind Iowa State — but the grasp is tenuous and a loss on Tuesday could drop Michigan out of the polls until Big Ten play, barring any heroics against Arizona in a couple weeks.
This isn't necessarily surprising. There isn't much weight to Michigan's schedule past ISU/Duke/Arizona, and the loss to Charlotte has to be answered for.
This doesn't mean much for the season's bigger goals. Michigan is still a young team looking for direction and trying to find its way on offense. There are plenty of big games to come once Big Ten play starts. Until then, Michigan will have a few big opportunities to test itself and a few more to work out the kinks.
