Shane Morris was Michigan's earliest 2013 verbal commitment, and he joins the class as one of its top-ranked players, as well as the cornerstone of Al Borges's future offense. Morris is a physically talented quarterback prospect that will need some time to develop, but could become an excellent player if his understanding of the game and his footwork catch up to his already developed arm.
Morris is Michigan's only quarterback recruit in the 2013 class, and is headed for a redshirt most likely. Once Devin Gardner moves on, Morris will be the frontrunner to take over the starting quarterback position as a RS-Soph. Michigan will need to take at least one, if not two, quarterbacks in 2014 to fill out the depth chart.
