Michigan to play South Dakota State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament

The Wolverines end up as a four seed facing the 13th seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbits.

Michigan's fall to a four is complete. The Wolverines end up as the fourth seed in the South region. This matches Michigan up against South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits are 25-9 this year, and won both a share of the regular season Summit Conference title at 13-3 in conference, but they also won the conference tournament.

If Michigan makes it to the second round, it will see either five-seed VCU or 12-seed Akron. VCU is 19th in Kenpom's overall rankings, and could be a bad matchup for Michigan. Elsewhere in Michigan's bracket, things aren't as tough. Florida sits as the three-seed, and Georgetown is the second-seed. Kansas is the one-seed, which will face off with the winner of the 8/9 matchup between Villanova and North Carolina.

All in all, Michigan isn't going to have an easy first weekend, but the chances are there for Michigan to get to the final four, as all of the rest of the top four teams have weaknesses.

Now bring on those Jackrabbits...
