Michigan basketball: going back to Brooklyn and more notes from the hardwood

Michigan will take on the Stanford Cardinal at the Barclay's Center next winter.

Mike Stobe

Michigan must have enjoyed its first game in the Barclay's Center this year vs. West Virginia, because the Wolverines have signed on to play another game there this upcoming season vs. Stanford.

The game is good exposure into the New York market, but Stanford is a fairly uninspiring opponent as the Cardinal haven't made the NCAA tournament in five years despite playing in the down Pac-12. The team was 19-15 this season and just 9-9 in conference.

Michigan will also play at home vs. Arizona and at Iowa State next season, adding a couple solid non-conference foes to go along with the Big Ten/ACC challenge and the Puerto Rico Tip Off,

Per Matt Vogrich's twitter account, Michigan senior big man Blake McLimans will be using his fifth-year transfer privileges to move down the road to Miami of Ohio for his final year of college ball. McLimans never broke the starting lineup after redshirting for his first year on campus, but we still thank him for all he has done for the program (as well as marvel at the fact that his first year on campus saw Michigan post a 15-17 record).

A few of Michigan's recruiting targets were at the Nike Elite Youth Basket all League in Los Angeles. UMHoops has all the details:

John Beilein was in Los Angeles throughout the weekend while LaVall Jordan also did some recruiting at the EYBL. Michigan's three outstanding offers in the class of 2014 - Devin Booker, Trevon Bluiett and Vince Edwards - were all in action as well as a number of other notable targets.

Stop by there and check out more including notes on each player's performance and some other great notes from the event.

I'm with Nick. Might want to get that checked out, Bacari.
