Week In Review Bids CCHA Adieu

This week saw Michigan move on from a few things. Everyone waits to see if Chris Webber is welcomed back, as the 10-year disassociation with Webber ended. And things got a little misty around here upon hearing Mike Barwis talk about Brock Mealer. Your week that was:

Gregory Shamus

Michigan Hockey Has A New Excellent Adventure. The CCHA has faded into statistic and record books and that one shirt in my drawer. Michigan now has a Big Ten hockey schedule, and a lot of familiar faces populate the dates. Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan State are all on the docket, giving us even more rivalries on television in winter.

Mike Barwis Gives People Legs...Figuratively. There are many unproven legends about Mike Barwis. One is not how he helped Brock Mealer walk again. Hey, Denard Robinson isn't the only good thing to come out of the Rich Rodriguez era after all.

Will Hagerup Done for 2013. I've never seen a punter with a rap sheet as long as a college dissertation, but Hagerup continues to amaze in something other than football. He'll sit out this season due to more rules violations, and has left me wondering whether Michigan should pick up the phone and see if Hayden Epstein has any eligibility left.

Lawrence Marshall Chooses the Good Guys. If Brady Hoke snags any more of Mark Dantonio's recruits, his new remote office will be in Dantonio's living room. Lawrence Marshall of Southfield passed on both MSU and Ohio State to fall into the bear hug of Hoke.
