Week In Review Corks Champaign

Football season's kickoff is under the 100-day mark, and that means it's permissible to start looking ahead to Michigan's conference opponents. These are the weeks where little happens, but the anticipation for football season grows stronger still. Much of this past week centered around hypothesizing Illinois' Big Ten fortunes and what Michigan will see when they play Illinois. The week that was:

Illinois Will Try to Out-Zook Tim Beckman. It's year two for Beckman, and he hasn't hit his stride. The Fighting Illini have talent returning, but will the ghost of the Zooker keep them in the basement? No matter what happens, Michigan fans agree that not allowing Illinois to score 65 points is a reasonable outcome to hope for.

A Michigan Fan's Guide to Champaign. Courtesy of Champaign Room's Brandon Birkhead, suggestions and tips for those who travel to the campus of Illinois for the game. Note to Illinois fans: a t-shirt that says "Mhis is Tichigan" may be a good way to drum up some apparel sales.

Quest to Find Most Jake Ryan-like Linebacker Begins. What will Michigan do without Jake Ryan on the field? There are some other guys that have to perform in his stead.

Michigan Plans Which of MSU's 2015 Recruits to Flip. Not entirely the case, but offers have started to go out for the 2015 class. Also, Jabrill Peppers announces his school choice later today. Peppers is the guy who is like Charles Woodson but Woodson-er. Only Fred Jackson succeeds at hyperbole.
