It had been a couple of years since Michigan had a true anchor on their defense, but they got one when Mike Martinarrived. One of the last holdouts from Rich Rodriguez's years who stuck around for Brady Hoke, Martin finished an exceptional career in 2011. He got so good he started all four years at one of the toughest positions on the field. When Michigan won the Sugar Bowl two years ago Martin accumulated more than 100 career tackles and several All Big Ten selections.
