Michigan Picks Up Two More Lacrosse Commits

In the midst of football recruiting news, Michigan is bolstering the future of the lacrosse program, too, as they pick up verbal commitments from two 2015 prospects.

Geoff Burke-US PRESSWIRE

Michigan recently grabbed verbal commitments from a couple defensive players, which is where the Wolverines really need the help. However, these kids won't be coming in until 2015.

Ben Paris (Lincoln/Portland, OR) was on the list of top ten most impressive players at the Adrenaline Showcase, which is for players out west (an increasing hotbed for lacrosse). Here is some video of Paris. Note that he has the physicality and footwork to redirect the attackers. Plus, he's good around the ground balls which are a part of his CTs. I was also able to find this little nugget that gives some insight into his footwork:

Paris had been considering Georgetown, Loyola, and Marquette.

The Wolverines also received a verbal from fellow defensive player, Nick DeCaprio (St. Augustine Prep/ New Jersey). He's 6'0" 175lbs. and considered Loyola, Towson, Richmond, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Georgetown. I wasn't able to find any video on DeCaprio, but you can read a brief interview with him here.

I believe this is a tweet about his commitment to Michigan...

I'm excited to have the young man from the interview play for the Wolverines. But, I'm too old to understand the Twitter-ese, so I'll tell the kid from Twitter to get off my damn lawn.
