How about the most recent rankings?
Overall | Conference | |
#1 Minnesota | 13-2-3 | 3-0-1 |
#7 Michigan | 10-4-2 | 2-0 |
#13 Wisconsin | 11-6-1 | 2-2 |
Michigan State | 6-9-2 | 0-1-1 |
Ohio State (rec. 12 votes) |
10-6-0 | 0-2 |
Penn State | 4-10-1 | 0-2 |
Okay, there really hasn't been much movement since the last poll, except for Michigan's precipitous fall from #3 to #7 after their poor showing during the GLI. The Wolverines also fell in SB Nation College Hockey's rankings.
Minnesota moved up into the top spot in the country and then immediately lost to Colgate in the Mariucci Classic. To be fair, Minnesota hadn't played in a month, and they played the game without head coach Don Lucia, Hudson Fasching, and Brady Skjei who were participating in the World Juniors (the US was eliminated by Russia, by the way). The Gophers then followed Friday's loss with a huge 6-2 win against the RPI Engineers (8-8-4).
The Wisconsin Badgers, after also moving up a spot in the polls, dropped a home contest for the first time this season to Alaska-Anchorage and then won the second game on Saturday by a score of 4-3.
Other news & notes:
- Minnesota forward Kyle Rau reaches 100 points.
- The rivalry between Minnesota and Wisconsin goes on even when they're not playing each other...
@DStruss1 @ajn0592 Anchorage is a much better team than Colgate though.

- Michigan State goaltender, Jake Hildebrand, was named the league's First Star of the Week.
Thanks to SBN College Hockey for providing some great stories for me to steal link.
