The Vegas oddsmakers were not very kind to the Wolverines this week, as they open as 15-point road underdogs against in-state rival Michigan State.

ANN ARBOR -- The time has come once again for Michigan and Michigan State to face off against one another.

After thoroughly being handled by 23-points in East Lansing a year ago, the Wolverines (3-4, 1-2) will make the return trip to Spartan Stadium (3:30 p.m. kickoff) hoping for better results. The oddsmaker in Vegas, however, don't think that is going to happen this season. Michigan State (6-1, 3-0) opens the week as 15-point favorites, according to VegasInsiders.com.

Last season, the Spartans were favored by four-points entering the game and won the contest 29-6. The Spartans have also won five of the last six meetings between the two teams and won four straight meetings from 2008-2011.

The previous matchup saw Michigan sacked eight times and finish with minus-48 yards rushing, the lowest single-game performance in program history.

On Saturday, the Spartans took care of business in Bloomington by defeating Indiana 56-17. Michigan is coming off a bye week, but defeated Penn State 18-13 last week.

Michigan holds the edge in the overall series with a 68-33-5 record against the Spartans.
