Countdown to kickoff has reached just over three months with bowl season being another six months away. However, that doesn't stop ESPN.com from releasing their early bowl predictions for the upcoming season.
If expectations were summarized through bowl predictions, then they're not exactly high right now.
ESPN.com writers Brett McMurphy and Mark Schlabach predict Michigan to appear in the Pinstripe and TaxSlayer Bowls respectively.
The Pinstripe Bowl is played in New York on Dec. 27 which schedules a Big Ten opponent to face an ACC opponent. The Big Ten recently committed to an eight-year pact with the hosts, the ACC agreed to a six-year deal.
For the TaxSlayer Bowl, it is scheduled to be played on Jan. 2 in Miami. Last season, Nebraska defeated Georgia 24-19 at the TaxSlayer Bowl.
Michigan has yet to participate in the Pinstripe Bowl but has appeared in the TaxSlayer Bowl (then named Gator Bowl) three times and coming away with a 1-2 record. Michigan most recently played Mississippi State in 2010.
