The WRR updates you on the latest with Michigan football recruiting. In this edition, Jacques Patrick takes a visit to Ann Arbor, a top offensive line target is set to decide soon, Michigan looks to take the lead for a 2015 linebacker, and we quickly preview a big prospect camp happening in Detroit this weekend.

Jacques Patrick Visits Michigan

As we've stated in the last couple of roundups, the running back position at the University of Michigan for both now and the future has gotten very interesting since the transfer of former USC rusher Ty Isaac last week.

Isaac's commitment potentially changes the depth chart this upcoming season, but also had a grand effect on the 2015 recruiting cycle.

The Wolverines were expected to roll with two running backs in their 2015 class, but to do that now would not make much sense for them. They are now able to narrow their search to one guy, which completely changes their pitch to the prospects on the board to them.

It allows them to tell a player that he is their guy and that a spot is his to lose, which could change who is interested in them dramatically, which it appears it has for one of their top targets at the position who seemed to be forgotten about.

Four-star running back Jacques Patrick (Orlando, FL) visited Michigan for two days earlier this week as he spends time in the state to attend the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in Detroit (more on that later). The multiple day visit potentially throws the Wolverines right back into the thick of things for his services.

Patrick by all accounts in a near-lock to attend Florida State, but I would not count out Michigan in this one. He still maintains regular contact with the staff and it appears the interest in the program definitely still exists.

He has the social media world abuzz yesterday as he sent this tweet out to Desmond Howard.

We'll have to sit back and watch Patrick's process unfold, but this looks to be a visit that potentially can pay dividends for them down the road.

Grant Newsome Set to Decide Sometime This Week

For those who want to know where the next 2015 commitment will come from, it appears we have some news for you.

Four-star offensive lineman Grant Newsome (Maclean, VA) is set to make a school decision between Penn State and Michigan within the coming days. The announcement will reportedly be made via his Twitter account.

It's been a back and forth battle between the two schools throughout the process, but it seems going into his decision, Michigan is sitting pretty well and looks to be the likely landing spot.

Newsome would be Michigan's second offensive line commitment in the 2015 class, joining legacy recruit Jon Runyan Jr. Just looking at the depth charts between the two schools, the competition for playing time seems a bit more open in Ann Arbor than Happy Valley.

Again, we'll have to wait and see. A decision could drop anywhere from when I'm typing this post up to next week. Keep an eye on your Twitter timelines to see it happen yourself.

Asmar Bilal Set to Visit Wolverines

Four-star 2015 linebacker Asmar Bilal (Indianapolis, IN) looks to be a heavy lean to Notre Dame at the moment, but nothing seems to be set in stone yet.

Bilal talked to 247's Steve Wiltfong about his plans for the summer, which include a visit up to Ann Arbor to see the Michigan coaching staff. ($).

The Wolverines have some work to do if they are to bring in Bilal and snatch him away from the Fighting Irish. He seems to like the program and is interested in knowing more before he makes a decision, but they are definitely fighting an uphill battle for him.

Having linebacker commit Darrin Kirkland Jr. in the fold, also from Indianapolis, could help Michigan in this battle. They are both top players in the state of Indiana, so we'll see where their friendship takes them in terms of the recruiting process.

As of now, Bilal is likely to choose ND, but getting him on campus could change everything for him and the Wolverines.

Sound Mind Sound Body Preview

This Thursday, the Sound Mind Sound Body football camp will be held in the Detroit area at Chandler Park Academy in Harper Woods. This is one of the biggest camps in the Midwest, and will feature a ton of top prospects from all over the nation.

Players like Jashon Cornell, Alex Malzone, Mike Weber, Jacques Patrick, Desmond Fitzpatrick and more will be in attendance at the two-day camp. Last year, I attended when I was writing for another website and it was a fantastic event that gave us many great interviews.

This year's version looks to be bigger and better, so I should be bringing some solid staff back with me when the Friday roundup rolls around.

For coverage during this event, be sure to follow me on Twitter @anthonytbroome, where I will be posting notes throughout the day.

That's it for the Wednesday roundup. See you back here Friday for the latest in Michigan football recruiting.
