NIk Stauskas is the first Wolverine off the board thanks to Sacramento, who selected him with the eighth pick in the 2014 NBA draft.
Stauskas leaves Michigan as last year's Big Ten player of the year and helped lead the Wolverines to a Final Four and then an Elite Eight in his two years. Michigan also won the Big Ten by three games with him helping to lead the offense.
Stauskas was considered a likely lottery pick coming into the night, but his selection in the top ten looked more likely once twitter rumors started to fly about Sacramento wanting either he or Aaron Gordon (who went fourth to Orlando).
Nik also managed to beat out Trey Burke's draft position in last year's draft, going one spot before Burke did in the 2013 draft.
If you want to remember Stauskas's time at Michigan, check out my long profile on his career here. If you're curious of his fit in the pros, Sactown Royalty will have all your answers.
Congrats, Nik. It was a pleasure watching you the last two years.
