Three Things to Know About Matt
1. Godin will likely slide into a starting role on the defensive line this season, because Mark Heitzman moved over to offensive tackle, leaving an opening at DT. The greatest thing one likes to hear a football player say is, "I'll be honest with you, I just like to hit people," as Godin said during his recruitment.
2. He was not heavily-recruited, but drew interest from Michigan State at least. Yet he grew up a fan of the maize and blue, so his allegiance was never really in doubt. His high school coaches always saw him as having much larger potential than his three-star recruit rating, and we'll get to see how that pans out should Godin end up on the first string defense.
