Damien Harris to Release Top Five Schools on Friday
Friday is a big day for Michigan Wolverines football targets looking to narrow down their list of schools and take the next step towards their future goals.
One of those targets happens to be one of Michigan's biggest: five-star 2015 running back Damien Harris (Berea, KY).
Harris' top group is expected to include the Wolverines. Even after decommitting back in January, it speaks volumes about the staff that they have still been able to stay in his ear and that he is still interested.
If I had to predict his top group in no particular order, I would say it includes Michigan, Ohio State, Kentucky, Alabama and Florida.
I don't believe at the end of the day that he will recommit to the Wolverines, but he is not deciding until after the football season, so there is a ton of time for things to iron themselves out.
As of now, I believe the leader in the clubhouse for that running back spot in this class is four-star Mike Weber (Detroit, MI). He is also deciding at the end of the year, but Michigan has gained a ton of momentum with him recently.
Either way, Michigan should end up with a very good running back in this class when it's all said and done.
Cameron Chambers to Commit Friday
Earlier this week, four-star 2016 wide receiver Cameron Chambers (Philadelphia, PA) announced a top five list of schools that included Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin with the intention of picking one of those schools later in the week.
That day is today.
Chambers' decision should come down to the two Michigan schools and the Buckeyes, thought it looks like it will certainly be either the Wolverines or Spartans given the timeline for the announcement. He visited both schools last week while skipping a trip to OSU.
That seems to be a telling sign of what's to come. All signs point to him ending up as a Wolverine, and the 247 Crystal Ball agrees, having 64 percent of the predictions in favor of Michigan.
Kareem Walker Visiting Next Week
The Wolverines are getting a big visit next week from one of 2016's best overall prospects.
Five-star running back Kareem Walker (Wayne, NJ) confirmed his trip to Ann Arbor to Wolverine 247. (FREE)
Walker was Michigan's first running back offered during the 2016 cycle and they have been working to get him on campus for awhile.
Walker is good friends with Jabrill Peppers, so one would assume that they will be together on this visit. I think it will take a big impression on this visit to throw Michigan into the mix.
Kirkland is an Army All-American
The accolades have begun to roll in for 2015 four-star linebacker commit Darrin Kirkland Jr. (Indianapolis, IN).
Kirkland has been named to the Army All-American team, an announcement he made via his Twitter account.
Blessed to be invited and accept an invitation to the @ArmyAllAmerican been a goal of mine my whole high school career #AllAmerican #blessed

I like what he brings both on and off the field, as it looks like he is a natural leader with a good head on his shoulders, as well as a damn good football player. These are the kinds of guys I enjoy covering at Michigan, so it's cool to see awards and such like this come in for these kids.
That's it for Friday. Enjoy the weekend and be back Monday for the latest in Michigan football recruiting.
