Senior Raymon Taylor, DB
Number: 6
Hometown: Highland Park HS; Detroit, MI
Height/Weight: 5-foot-10, 184 lbs.
Three Things to Know About Raymon
1. He almost ended up a Hoosier. Raymon initially committed to Indiana but changed his mind midway through the recruiting process when Michigan — his childhood favorite — began showing interest under Rich Rodriguez. After an official visit, Taylor jumped to be part of what had then turned into Brady Hoke's first class.
2. While the "athlete" designation that was put on Ray as a recruit hasn't been widely applicable (he almost immediately stuck right at corner and hasn't been active in the return game) there is a chance that changes. Saturday during the open scrimmage it was Taylor who was back with Dennis Norfleet to return kicks, even taking one a good distance before the play was whistled dead.
3. Ray has six career interceptions, including four last year and this gem from two years ago when he was forced into starting duty to spell the injured Blake Countess.
Here's hoping he can add a defensive score or two this year.
