It appears that the pieces of a "huge" announcement regarding home-and-home opponents is starting to take place. This time, an old enemy will be welcomed back to Michigan Stadium.
The University of Michigan announced a home-and-home series with the University of Washington starting in 2020 on Wednesday. The fifth time both schools have faced off in a home-and-home series.
Michigan will first travel to Washington on Sept, 5, 2020 at Husky Stadium and will see the tailend of the series at Michigan Stadium on Sept. 21, 2021.
"We are excited to rekindle a rivalry that has showcased some great games and great teams for both programs," said Michigan coach Brady Hoke in a statement. "There have been some exciting, down-to-the-wire football games between Michigan and Washington and we anticipate the same type of contests when this series is played at the outset of the next decade."
Michigan leads the series against the Huskies 7-5 and is 3-1 at Michigan Stadium and is 2-2 at Husky Stadium. The two have also met in the Rose Bowl four times and have split those meetings.
